Bell's Brewery

John Bell was one of the first-known brewers in Belfast with records dating back to 1778. His home address, listed as Hercules Lane, was just around the corner from where The Deer’s Head currently stands, and what we now call Lower Garfield Street was known as Bell’s Lane in 1819.
